Our Key Person approach gives each member of staff specific responsibilities for working with a group of children, and enables us to ensure a planned curriculum tailored to the needs of each individual child. This helps making settling into The Nursery more personal, and therefore we find the children feel happy, secure and confident to explore and to try out new things.
The Key Person will aim to meet the needs of each child and respond sensitively to their feelings, ideas and behaviour. Links with parents are maintained by the Key Person by sharing their child’s records of his or her development and progress on a regular basis. The child’s profile can reassure parents about the ways in which their child is progressing as well as ensuring that activity plans are up to date and in line with your child’s current needs. The child’s leaving report are sent to the next provider, i.e. School.
